Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 1 September 2022 (ECA) - The government of the Togolese Republic, under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in the facilitation of the Lomé Declaration, launched the contest for the logo design for The African Center For Coordination And Research In Cybersecurity (ACCRC) in Lomé, Togo to be launched in December. The center will be a central regional hub for cybersecurity information and intelligence based in Lomé (Togo) and will act independently and objectively in expertise and activities related to promoting cybersecurity and the investigation of cybercrime in the African continent.
Its mission will cover, but are not be limited to:

Building capacities and supporting established cybersecurity agencies in African countries

Collaborating with African governments, policymakers, law enforcement, and security experts towards creating effective frameworks for assessing and mitigating cyber threats and promoting cybersecurity in the region

Providing highly specialized technical and research capabilities for cybersecurity promotion in the region
In realizing the role of youth in the continent and ensuring they get equal opportunities without being left behind. The contest is open to all Africans 18-35 years old, regardless of gender. Group participation is allowed, provided all team participants meet the age group's requirements. This is an opportunity for young Africans to illustrate their ability in the field of IT and design. Through the contest, young developers will have a chance to showcase their creativity at the continental stages.
The winner will receive a prize of two thousand (2,000) USD. All contestants must submit their application no later than the 30th of September 2022. The jury will review all applications, and the winner will be announced by the 31st of October 2022. All file submissions should be in .PNG format and less than 2 megabytes (MB) in size.
