8 October, 2022

Khartoum, 6 October 2022 (ECA) - The ECA Office for North Africa will hold on 11- 13 October 2022 in Khartoum (Sudan), in partnership with the National Population Council of Sudan, a national capacity development workshop and a high-level policy dialogue on employment and job creation in the Sudan. Based on key findings from the ECA regional report on “Best practices in job creation: lessons from Africa” published in 2021, this workshop aims to build national capacities on employment and job creation, share information on best practices in this field and strengthen stakeholders’ understanding of changing employment and labor market situations. Ultimately, this work aims to help place employment and job creation, especially for women and youth, at the top of national priorities for policies and actions during Sudan’s transitional period and beyond. This workshop will benefit policy makers and senior officials from the Sudanese Ministries of Labour and Administrative Reform; Education; Higher Education; Industry and Trade; Finance and Economic Planning; Agriculture and Natural Resources; Social Development; Youth and Sports; as well as representatives of the Sudanese private sector and civil society.
