Mbabane, Eswatini, November 2, 2022 - The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Economic Commission for Africa’s African Trade Policy Centre (ATPC) and Economic Commission for Africa, Sub-regional Office for Southern Africa (ECA-SRO-SA) is organising a National Consultative Forum on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) for the Kingdom of Eswatini on 3rd November 2022 at the Mountain View Hotel (formerly Mountain Inn) starting at 09:00 a.m., followed by a media engagement workshop on the 4th of November 2022.
The main objective of the Consultative Forum is to get views from a variety of stakeholders ranging from government ministries and departments, government parastatals, the private sector, exporters and the media on how best Eswatini can optimally benefit from the AfCFTA.
The planned Forum will set the tone and act as a foundation for the many bilateral consultations with relevant stakeholders. The objective is to come up with a living national strategy that would enable Eswatini exporter increased access to the continental market.
