Tunis, 20 December 2023 (ECA) - The ECA Office for North Africa and the Tunisian Ministry of Trade and Export Development are holding, in cooperation with the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) a workshop to showcase the results of a recent study on Tunisia's goods and services export offer within the context of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the new national strategy for its implementationon Friday 22 December in Tunis.
This workshop is being organized as part of ECA's technical support to member countries. It seeks to promote trade integration in Africa through the design and implementation of national AfCFTA strategies, which are instrumental in identifying individual countries’ comparative advantages, fostering diversification, developing key value chains and maximizing national trade potentials.
The study aims to enhance trade between Tunisia and the rest of the region; it provides strategic insights into the country’s capacity for goods and services exports to Africa within the framework of the AfCFTA.
Participants at this event will include representatives of several ministries and public administrations in charge of trade, industry, transport, agriculture, higher education, scientific research, customs and the Central Bank. Other participants will include the private sector and civil society representatives and academics.
