The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is collaborating with the African Union Commission on the Digital Identity, Digital Trade, and Digital Economy (DITE4Africa) initiative - a joint effort aimed at supporting African Member States to fully leverage their digital potential and capitalize on the continent's digital transformation pathway towards the achievement of the UN SDGs and AU Agenda 2063.
The initiative aligns with the UN-World Bank's Legal Identity Agenda and involves strategic partnerships with Omidyar Network, Rockefeller Foundation, the World Bank, etc. Building upon existing efforts on the continent, the work encompasses enhancing CRVS systems, promoting an inclusive and cyber-secure digital economy, and cultivating digital skills that can harness the opportunities of the digital future.
