The Library's collections include; books, periodicals, pamphlets, maps, microfiche, CD-ROMs, bibliographic databases, videotapes, and on-line full text databases. The Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) provides an interface to search and browse the Library's physical information resources and the Library Website is your portal for accessing all e-resources.
The Library has one of the most comprehensive collections of materials on economic and social development in Africa. The collections include the following:
- General collection – periodicals and journals, newspapers, atlases and other reference sources, CD-ROM and monograph collections;
- E-Resources collection – Over 35 premium full-text online databases which provide access to over 90,000 e-journals, e-books and statistical databases, as well as a host of open source and other-freely available online resources that have been professionally selected by the Library reference team.
- United Nations and UN Agency documents – United Nations official documents, ECA publications, World Bank and IMF publications and documents; and
- African Government Publications collection – Official publications of African Governments (Central Banks, Statistical Offices, Annual Reports, etc.) and of intergovernmental organizations in Africa (e.g. Africa Union and the African Development Bank.
