The 17th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) will be hosted by the Government of Ethiopia with the support of UN ECA and UN DESA and will take place from 28 November to 2 December 2022 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, under the overarching theme Resilient Internet for a Shared Sustainable and Common Future. There are five themes that guide the agenda of the meeting, drawn from the Global Digital Compact found in the UN Secretary-General's report on Our Common Agenda.

The 17th annual IGF will be hosted in a hybrid format. The meeting will aim at accommodating the participation of stakeholders present onsite in Addis Ababa or participating online in an equitable manner. This hybrid approach also extends to the session organizing teams (organizers, speakers, moderators and rapporteurs) who will participate online or onsite.

The overall objective is to make participation in IGF 2022 meaningful and inclusive for all participants.
