Lusaka, 6 December 2024 (ECA) – The Economic Commission for Africa will host a capacity-building workshop on the development of regional value chains for electric mobility from 9 to 11 December in Lusaka, Zambia.
The workshop will bring together policymakers, representatives from the public and private sectors, and technical experts from Zambia, Morocco, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with the aim of enhancing participants’ skills in related fields; creating platforms to share best practices; strengthening relevant institutional capacities with a focus on regulatory and policy frameworks; and promoting collaboration between member States.
The meeting will conclude with a High-level political dialogue on automotive and e-mobility regional value chains, jointly organized by the ECA Offices for North and Southern Africa, on 12 December 2024. This dialogue will provide an opportunity for key stakeholders to harmonise their strategies, policies and priorities priorities for the development of regional automotive and e-mobility value chains. Participants will also discuss policies, regulations and partnerships to promote the expansion of e-mobility value chains and a supportive business environment.
