Release Date:
14 November, 2024

Climate change has significant implications for both development and migration in Africa. African countries are particularly vulnerable to the impact of climate change, which can have far-reaching consequences in various contexts. Their vulnerability manifests itself in several ways, including threats to security, to transboundary pastoral mobility, to habitability and to rural productivity and income. The report represents a comprehensive analysis of the linkages between climate change and migration in Africa. Emphasis is given to the importance of recognizing the interlinkages between environmental and migration issues, with a view to undertaking comprehensive and multidimensional assessments that can feed into the design and development of sustainable and actionable policies across Africa.
