Media Advisory: Data on women and girls takes centre stage at joint Africa Gender Statistics Conference in Nairobi

Media representatives are invited to a regional conference on the latest innovations and best practices in gender statistics to inform action plans for gender statistics in Africa. More than 130 public and civil society actors, including policy analysis and gender statistics experts from about 40 countries in Africa will participate in the in-person conference to be held in Nairobi.

Under the theme ‘Gender Statistics Imperatives for Africa’, the conference will feature expert discussions and peer-to-peer learning sessions on gender statistics from the perspective of gender and Africa’s Agenda 2063, progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG5), and global guidance on violence against women data, among others.

When: Monday, 26 September to Friday, 30 September 2022, 8 am – 4 pm East Africa Time each day
