Online, August 25, 2021 - The Open Society Foundations, the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Foundation, and the Applied Machine Learning Days (AMLD) will hold this Thursday, August 26 a round table on the governance of migration in Africa and the issue of migration policies.

Within the framework of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, African Regional Review Conference, this event aims to highlight the importance of national migration policies in the implementation of the Global Compact, and formulate specific recommendations for the governance of orderly and regular safe migrations.

This event is taking place in preparation for the Africa Regional Review Conference of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), occurring next week on 31 August and 1 September: an event jointly organized by the UN Network on Migration, the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC), and hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco.
