Online, 25 August 2021 – The National Human Rights Council of Morocco will hold on Thursday 26 August a regional consultation with African national human rights institutions on the regional review of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration in Africa.

This event aims to take stock on the progress made towards the implementation of the 23 objectives of the GCM in Africa, identify the main challenges, opportunities and lessons learnt of GCM implementation, and contribute to the report on migration in Africa.

This event will take place in preparation for the Africa Regional Review Conference of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), scheduled on 31 August and 1 September and jointly organized by the UN Network on Migration, the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC), and hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco.
