The fifty-third session of the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development will be held from 17-23 March 2021 on the theme: Africa’s sustainable industrialisation and diversification in the digital era in the context of Covid-19. In order to adhere to the constraints imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person participation will be restricted to Speakers, African Ambassadors based in Addis Ababa and Bureau of Conference members at the ministerial level.
The Conference, which will draw seasoned and high-level panellists from within and outside Africa, promises to be very exciting and engaging, with outcome decisions that will have important implications for Africa’s future.
As in previous sessions, the Committee of Experts will meet from 17 to 19 March 2021 for technical deliberations on the theme and the statutory issues of the Commission. The Ministerial Segment will take place on 22 and 23 March 2021. A number of special and side events will also be held on the margins of the session.
