Assessment of the Blue Economy in Djibouti - Discussion of the draft document and the toolkit
Djibouti
Following a preliminary assessment made in 2020 by the ECA, the Blue Economy contributes at least 18% of GDP and 22% of total employment in Djibouti. Note that this contribution relates to only three sectors for which data were available on the eight sectors identified, to date, as falling under the Blue Economy. Thus, the contribution of the Blue Economy to GDP and employment is necessarily greater and would be greater with better integration of the sectors that make it up around a unified vision of the Blue Economy.
On May 18, 2021, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Djibouti local time, GMT+3), a virtual national webinar in order to discuss the profile and potential of Djibouti's blue economy, to discover or better know the evaluation tool, the BEVTK, developed by the ECA in 2020 and to present the main results of the evaluation is being organized.
