The ECA office for North Africa will hold the 36th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of Senior Officials and Experts for North Africa under the theme: “Enhancing regional integration in North Africa”. This meeting will take place online, on Wednesday 24 November 2021.
 
The Intergovernmental Committee of Senior Officials and Experts (ICSOE) for North Africa is a statutory, deliberative body whose role is to determine the office’s strategic directions. The ICSOE meets annually to examine the office’s activity report, its accomplishments and work programme and in light of North African countries’ development priorities.
 
The ICSOE meeting provides a framework for assessments and exchanges among high-level government experts, researchers and representatives of the private sector and civil society on the evolution of economic and social conditions across the subregion with a view to recommending strategies and options to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2063 and deepen regional integration.
 
The ICSOE meeting will be followed by an expert group meeting on “Unlocking the Potential of Regional Value Chains in North Africa”. This event will take place in a hybrid format in Marrakech (Morocco) from 24 to 25 November 2021.
