What: The African Regional Round of the 21st edition of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition (2022-2023) on WTO Law

The John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition, organized on an annual basis since 2002, has been instrumental in strengthening the capacity of young Africans in international trade law. It has been observed over the last few years many competition participants have pursued careers in international trade law or economics as academics, private practitioners, and government officials. Indeed, several of the missions to the WTO, of both the developed and developing countries, currently employ as delegates, past participants of the competition.
This year, 16 university teams representing 7 African countries will participate in the 10th African Regional Round. The countries include Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Nigeria, South Africa, Tunisia, and Uganda. The best teams from the Regional Rounds will advance to the Final Oral Round that will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, in July 2023.
