Technical support mission on international credit ratings Namibia

This report summarizes the findings of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Technical Support Mission to Namibia, which aimed to strengthen the country’s preparedness for sovereign credit rating assessments and improve engagement with international credit rating agencies. The Mission reviewed existing institutional arrangements, identified key challenges and capacity gaps, and highlighted priority areas for technical support. Based on its findings, the report provides recommendations to enhance Namibia’s creditworthiness, strengthen rating-related processes and stakeholder coordination, and support broader economic and financial development goals. The Mission was conducted under the African Union mandate empowering the APRM to assist Member States in improving their sovereign credit ratings.
