About the Event
“Translating Global Commitments into Regional and National Action: Towards an Inclusive Digital Society” is a side event of the WSIS+20 UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting, organized by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in collaboration with UNDESA, ITU, the UN Regional Commissions, and the Government of Benin.
The event provides a platform to reflect on progress made over the past two decades toward building a people-centered, inclusive, and development-oriented Information Society. It aims to strengthen alignment between WSIS+20 outcomes, the Global Digital Compact, and global and regional development agendas.
Bringing together policymakers and key stakeholders, the session will highlight lessons learned from regional and national WSIS+20 reviews and explore practical pathways for translating global digital commitments into concrete action at regional and national levels.
