Objective:

The 2024 meeting of the West African Intergovernmental Organizations (IGO-WA), organized by the Sub-Regional Office for West Africa of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECASRO-WA) in collaboration with the ECOWAS Commission, aims to accelerate regional integration and sustainable development in West Africa amidst multiple challenges. This goal will be achieved by enhancing the synergy of actions between United Nations system entities and West African intergovernmental organizations.

At the conclusion of this 2024 session, participants will be informed about the progress made in regional integration within the sub-region, including the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Additionally, they will receive updates on recent major initiatives undertaken by the United Nations system and intergovernmental organizations.
