National Forum on Angola’s National AfCFTA Implementation Strategy and Action Plan

Overview
The National Forum on Angola’s AfCFTA Implementation Strategy and Action Plan marks a pivotal step in Angola’s journey toward full participation in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The Forum will officially launch the process of developing a National Strategy and Action Plan to guide Angola’s integration into the continental market, drive industrial diversification, and strengthen regional value chains.
This two-day Forum will bring together senior government officials, private sector representatives, academia, civil society, and development partners to deliberate on Angola’s trade priorities, policy reforms, and institutional coordination mechanisms under the AfCFTA.
Objectives
The workshop aims to:
- Present and discuss the Inception Report prepared by ECA consultants, outlining the methodology and roadmap for developing Angola’s National AfCFTA Implementation Strategy and Action Plan.
- Collect stakeholder inputs to ensure the Strategy reflects national priorities and sectoral perspectives.
- Raise awareness on AfCFTA Protocols, including trade in goods and services, investment, competition policy, intellectual property rights, and digital trade.
- Identify opportunities and challenges for Angola’s integration into regional and continental value chains.
- Strengthen institutional coordination among the government, private sector, and civil society for effective implementation.
Expected Outcomes
- Validation of the Inception Report as a guiding framework for the Strategy.
- Mapping of stakeholder contributions and sectoral recommendations.
- Consensus on Angola’s trade priorities and integration pathways under the AfCFTA.
- Enhanced collaboration among national institutions, private sector actors, and development partners.
Participants
The Forum will convene:
- Senior officials from the Government of Angola, led by MINDCOM
- Private sector associations and chambers of commerce
- Academic institutions and research organizations
- UN agencies and development partners, including the EU, AfDB, IMF, and World Bank
Languages:
English and Portuguese, with simultaneous interpretation.
