Overview
The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), in collaboration with the Global Network for Cybersolution (GNC), will host a Two-Day High-Level Webinar entitled “Advancing Cybersecurity and Cyber Diplomacy in Africa.”
This event aims to translate global digital policy into actionable and harmonised strategies across the African region. It will bring together policymakers, diplomats, cybersecurity experts, civil society, and members of the academic and technical communities to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and solutions in cybersecurity and cyber diplomacy.
Objectives
The webinar will:
- Examine current cybersecurity threats and priorities in Africa.
- Share best practices and lessons from successful regional operations.
- Explore strategies to strengthen Africa’s participation in global cyber governance.
- Build capacity among African diplomats to engage in cyber diplomacy.
- Foster regional cooperation and policy coherence in cybersecurity governance.
Expected Outcomes
- Enhanced regional coordination and knowledge exchange in cybersecurity and cyber diplomacy.
- Strengthened institutional and diplomatic capacities for cyber engagement.
- Increased awareness of digital trust, AI, and emerging technology governance.
- A shared agenda for advancing Africa’s digital security and resilience.
