Fil d'Ariane

  2. Land Governance Curriculum Development

Land governance is crucial for achieving inclusive economic growth, sustainable development, and food security, encompassing the systems for making decisions about land access, use, and the management of competing interests. In Sierra Leone, there is a recognized need for specialized education in this field, as no such programs are currently offered by academic institutions. To address this gap, the University of Makeni (UNIMAK), with support from the Network for Excellence on Land Governance in Africa (NELGA), has developed a draft curriculum for a BSc. in Land Governance and Administration. This initiative aims to build research capacity among land actors and stakeholders to tackle critical challenges in land governance and administration in the country.
