Sierra Leone has taken strategic steps towards implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement since ratifying it in 2019. In line with this commitment, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, in collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the AfCFTA Secretariat, is organizing a four-day capacity building workshop for members of the National Implementation Committee (NIC).
This training will provide critical technical knowledge, foster institutional coordination, and empower NIC members to lead and monitor Sierra Leone’s AfCFTA implementation effectively.
Objectives:
- Deepen understanding of AfCFTA protocols, including Trade in Goods, Services, Digital Trade, and IPRs.
- Strengthen institutional coordination among stakeholders.
- Equip participants with tools for monitoring and evaluation.
- Foster inclusive implementation through gender and youth engagement.
- Promote peer learning and strategic partnerships.
