The ECA Office for North Africa will hold its 41st Intergovernmental Committee of Senior Officials and Experts for North Africa (ICSOE) in Rabat (Morocco) on 3-5 November 2026. The meeting will be held under the theme: “Strengthening economic resilience mechanisms to address the repercussions of simultaneous global shocks in North Africa.”
A statutory deliberative body of the ECA, the ICSOE will consider results achieved by the organisation’s subregional office for North Africa over the past year, its forthcoming work programme and strategic orientations.
The ICSOE will also provide participants with an opportunity to share their experiences and best practices in mitigating the impact of multiple and overlapping shocks, explore innovative and practical policies aimed at strengthening North African countries’ resilience, support their economic transformation and diversification and accelerate the implementation of Agenda 2030 (SDGs) and Agenda 2063.
Recommendations from the 41st ICSOE meeting will be submitted to 59th Session of the Economic Commission for Africa and Conference of Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (COM2027) scheduled in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 17 to 23 March 2027 under the theme: "Shaping the future of work in Africa: youth employment."
