StatsTalk Africa Webinar on GDP and Well-being Statistics

The webinar will provide a platform for dialogue on two important areas of official statistics. The first will focus on GDP statistics, including comparability between national and international dissemination outlets, data-source alignment, revisions, exchange-rate conversion, metadata transparency, and implications for policy use. The second will focus on Well-being statistics, including the availability, comparability, and interpretation of monetary poverty, multidimensional poverty, per capita income, HDI, and related indicators.
The session is intended to stimulate a practical conversation among Heads of National Statistical Offices and technical specialists on how African NSOs can strengthen their role as custodians of national statistical narratives, particularly when national statistics are republished, compared, or interpreted on regional and international platforms.
