The role of Competition Policy in supporting MSMEs economic recovery in the post COVID-19 crisis

As you may already know, UNCTAD and UNECA, through the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP), have joined forces in responding to the COVID19 crisis by holding a regional dialogue on the role of Competition Policy in supporting the economic recovery of MSMEs post COVID-19. This regional dialogue will be held virtually via Zoom on March 11nd, 2021 at 14:00-16:30 hrs CET (13:00 Dakar) with simultaneous interpretation in English and French.

During the regional dialogue, we will also discuss the preliminary findings of the UN reports: 

  1. An UNCTAD Report entitled “How COVID-19 Affects MSME Access to Markets and Competition: A Review of Key Issues and Recommendations for Future Action”

  2. An UNCTAD national report focusing on South Africa entitled “Analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in South Africa”
